The responsibilities of the Janitor include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Cleaning the facility common areas and restrooms, which includes sweeping, mopping, and removing trash.
- Removing debris, such as pallets and empty boxes throughout the facility.
- Assisting with setting up meeting rooms and moving tables, chairs, and furniture.
- Hauling off recyclable materials.
- Assisting with unloading incoming materials.
- Stock and maintain supply rooms.
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist with a variety of facility support tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining facility appearance.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills .
- Ability to identify and proactively address housekeeping and safety concerns.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing and industrial environment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment and tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Previous janitorial, custodial, or building services experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or inductrial setting.
- Experience operating floor scrubbers, sweepers, pressure washers, or similar cleaning equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and housekeeping.
