As a Physical Education Teacher Aide , you'll work directly alongside the Physical Education Teacher to help students participate successfully in physical activities while supporting their behavioral, social-emotional, and developmental needs. Responsibilities - Assist the Physical Education Teacher with the delivery of physical education activities and lessons - Support students individually and in small groups to encourage participation, skill development, and engagement - Assist with adapting activities to meet students' individual abilities, needs, and learning goals - Help set up, organize, distribute, and maintain physical education equipment and instructional materials - Model and reinforce teamwork, sportsmanship, appropriate social skills, and safe participation - Provide supervision and support to students during physical education classes and activities - Support students' behavioral, social, emotional, and physical development - Help create a safe, structured, positive, and inclusive physical education environment - Implement behavior management strategies and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques when necessary - Collaborate with the Physical Education Teacher, classroom staff, and other members of the educational team - Participate in required professional development, training, and staff meetings
Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent required - Associate degree or coursework in education, physical education, recreation, sports management, human services, or a related field preferred - Experience working with children or students with disabilities preferred - Experience with athletics, recreation, coaching, or physical activity programs is a plus - Ability and willingness to actively participate in physical education activities throughout the school day - Strong communication and collaboration skills - Ability to provide individualized student support and maintain student engagement - Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment - Willingness to participate in required professional development and training *No teaching certification required Falk School is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
