Overview: Manager of Production Planning Lead and own production planning for UL1741 electrical cabinets, harnesses, overmold fuses and fabricated components (copper bus bars, steel panels, pile caps). Ensure on-time delivery, optimal inventory, capacity utilization, cost control, quality, and safety by partnering with engineering, procurement, business development and manufacturing.

Responsibilities: Develop and own short-, mid-, and long-term production plans and master production schedules (MPS) aligned to demand, sales forecasts and business priorities. Drive ERP/MRP parameterization, data integrity and change management for production, capacity and resource planning. Lead S&OP / demand-supply reconciliation and translate business plans into a robust product supply plan across the time horizon.
Oversee BOM/route validation in ERP and identify material/lead-time gaps to create WIP-feasible schedules. Manage material planning and collaborate with Procurement to secure components and maintain safety stock and reorder policies. Allocate capacity and resources across lines; identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions (shift changes, subcontracting, CAPEX).
Own inventory strategy and KPIs to minimize stockouts and excess inventory while supporting service targets. Improve planning processes and drive productivity gains measured by OEE, lead time reduction, and inventory turns; lead continuous improvement and Lean initiatives. Lead, mentor and develop the production planning team; set objectives, conduct performance reviews and succession planning.
Coordinate cross-functionally to prioritize production, resolve issues and ensure customer requirements are met. Produce and present regular reporting and analytics (schedule adherence, OTD, forecast accuracy, capacity utilization); recommend actions. Ensure compliance with quality (ISO 9002), safety and company policies in planning activities.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or related field; MBA or advanced supply chain certification preferred. 7+ years' experience in production planning or manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role; experience with electrical, harness, or fabricated components preferred.
Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools. Demonstrated experience with S&OP, capacity planning, inventory optimization and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder-management and leadership skills.
APICS- CPIM/ SCM, Lean Green/ Black Belt certification is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Visio and familiarity with BI/reporting tools.
