The primary responsibilities of this position are:
- Manage the design and development of new Publix store locations and shopping centers, ensuring compliance with lease requirements, Publix standards, and industry design guidelines.
- Lead commercial developers and internal and external design partners to drive projects forward efficiently and effectively through both confidential and non-confidential phases of development
- Coordinate production, approvals, and document management for all shopping center project documents throughout the life of the project
- Participate in design development by managing scope, timelines, consultant partnerships, cross-functional coordination, and design execution to support successful project delivery
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the new store development process for internal and external entities
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of formal training/certification and professional work experience that demonstrates the prerequisite competence to perform the duties of this position
- 4 years commercial plan reading experience to include at least one year working on retail or grocery related design
- 4 years cross-disciplinary experience (i.e. architecture and civil, electrical and mechanical engineering)
- 3 years project management experience and/or related field experience
- Must be at least 20 years old and have a valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of Project management methodology
- Knowledge of contract administration procedures and legal terminology and external service supplier selection process
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a design or construction program
- 6 years commercial plan reading & design experience to include at least two years with Publix
- 6 years cross-disciplinary experience (i.e. architecture and civil, electrical and mechanical engineering)
- 4 years project management experience and/or related field experience
- Drafting Certification
- Project Management Institute – Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) OR Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Knowledge of construction drawings and codes, laws, regulations, and ordinances relating to design as well as design technologies used in the creation of store designs
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
- CADD (Computer Automated Drafting Design) and/or Revit

Pay Range : $5,890 - $8,835

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
