Senior Accountant

Role Overview The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the financial health and operational excellence of Audiohook. This role combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with opportunities to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic decision-making. You'll collaborate closely with Operations, Sales, and Leadership to ensure accurate reporting and smooth financial operations.

Responsibilities: Core Accounting - Own the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness - Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules - Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP - Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable cycles, including vendor payments and customer invoicing - Oversee revenue recognition processes, ensuring alignment with ASC 606 Financial Reporting & Analysis - Help prepare monthly financial statements and management reports Process Improvement & Systems - Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and automate manual processes - Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to financial policies Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Sales and Operations to validate revenue and expenses - Communicate clearly and proactively in a remote-first environment Qualifications Required - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - 4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience - Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition standards - Advanced proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) - Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills - Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication Preferred - CPA or CPA-track - Experience in a startup or high-growth company - Experience in a SaaS, ad-tech, or tech-driven environment - Familiarity with automated AP/AR tools, CRM integrations, or BI dashboards
