Full job description

Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.

- Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance

requirements - Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained - Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack - Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle - Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas - Automates manual release activities - Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance) - Lead the design, development, and implementation of real-time data replication solutions using IBM IIDR to support Never Down (NVD) initiatives. - Own end-to-end delivery of IIDR-based pipelines across mainframe (z/OS) and midrange platforms, ensuring seamless integration with DB2, Kafka, and other target systems. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex replication issues, with a strong focus on reducing latency and ensuring high availability and resilience. - Optimize performance of IBM IIDR CDC pipelines, including tuning throughput, subscription parallelism, and resource utilization. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, driving best practices in IIDR design, development, and support. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, estimate effort, and deliver solutions aligned with business priorities. - Ensure production stability by monitoring system health, proactively identifying risks, and implementing remediation strategies. - Support testing, deployment, and release activities, including CI/CD processes and production readiness validations. - Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and implement long-term fixes to improve system reliability. - Drive continuous improvement and innovation through proof-of-concepts, automation, and process enhancements.

- 10+ years of hands-on experience (Technical developer) in IBM IIDR (mainframe and midrange), focused on real-time data replication, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting in data integration pipelines. - Deep knowledge of IBM IIDR across z/OS (mainframe) and IIDR midrange (Linux/Red Hat) environments. - Strong proficiency in z/OS and Unix technologies, including JCL, DB2 for z/OS, RACF security, and Unix shell scripting; well versed in IIDR-to-Kafka streaming architecture. - Proven ability to tune IBM IIDR performance between source and target datastores (log readers, buffers, throughput optimization, and subscription parallelism). - Hands-on experience with IBM IIDR Access Server and Management Console configuration. - Strong troubleshooting skills with expertise in analyzing IBM IIDR logs, DB2 logs, Mainframe SYSLOG / JES logs, - Skilled in analyzing: Network issues affecting replication; Communication/handshake issues; Serialization or conflict errors; Schema evolution problems across IBM IIDR and Confluent Kafka. - Identifying performance bottlenecks such as: High CPU usage in IIDR CDC capture; Log volume spikes; Locking/contention issues on source or target systems and subscription parallelism. - Experience working with heterogeneous data environments (DB2, Oracle, Single Store, CockroachDB).

Perform root cause analysis for replication failures. - Subject Matter Expertise supporting near real time log based solutions, monitoring IBM IIDR health, latency, and overall pipeline performance. - Ability to perform root cause analysis and drive resolution of complex replication issues. - Self-driven, quick learner with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. - Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Experience with Kafka event streaming

$102,900.00 - $179,900.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
