Overview ADL Fall 2026 Internship Description ADL’s Santa Barbara/Tri-Counties Regional Operations team is looking for a dynamic intern to join us from September 14, 2026 through December 18, 2026 .
The ideal candidate will have experience with community outreach, internet research, written advocacy, and database management. Our Regional Operations internship provides the opportunity for students to gain practical experience working directly with the Regional Director to gain first-hand knowledge about work in the areas of community outreach and program development.
The focus will be heavily on projects involving research, reporting, advocacy, and newsletter writing; planning and attending meetings; and event planning.
Application portals will close at 12PM ET on August 14th, 2026. ADL will confirm the selected candidates by mid-August.
Responsibilities Primary: Under the guidance and supervision of the Regional Director, research and plan incident response Plan and participate in community outreach, event planning, and board meetings/events Research and recruit existing or potential community partners interested in ADL programs Draft and compile written materials for programs, events, and presentations.
Managing the Regional Operations calendar, expenses, and budget.
Qualifications Requirements Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent Passion for non-profit work Desire to start building a career within the non-profit sector Skills/Attributes Excellent communication skills Collaborative team player Creative and innovative; takes initiative Results-oriented – a problem solver (versus a problem identifier) Excels in dynamic environments that require adaptability Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Energized by ADL’s mission and work Compensation and Hours This internship is paid local minimum wage or $15/hr (whichever is higher).
The internship is 15 hours per week. This internship will be hybrid, with on-site presence required in Santa Barbara, California. What will you do during this internship?
You will learn about real-life decision-making challenges and help us develop real-time solutions. You will have practical, hands-on experience with community stakeholder engagement, program development, budget management, and leadership through advocacy.
