This role contributes to chassis and enclosure design, fit and function validation, manufacturability, and issue resolution across the product lifecycle.

  • Support mechanical design activities including chassis, brackets, enclosures, cable routing, labels, and structural components.
  • Generate and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, design documentation, and engineering change updates required for development and release.
  • Assist with tolerance analysis, stack-up evaluation, finite element analysis, and other technical studies to improve design robustness.
  • Support mechanical verification activities including mechanical fit tests, form and function reviews, and issue investigation during builds and validation.
  • Partner with suppliers, operations, and manufacturing teams to improve producibility, quality, assembly readiness, and cost effectiveness.
  • Track mechanical issues and support defect analysis, corrective actions, and lessons learned throughout development and sustaining phases.
  • Participate in cross-functional design reviews and work with EE, Thermal, Firmware, Validation, and Systems teams to ensure integrated product execution.
  • Provide concise reporting of design progress, risks, test results, and open issues to project stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, product development, or related engineering roles.
  • Working knowledge of CAD tools, drawing release processes, and basic mechanical analysis methods.
  • Familiarity with manufacturability, tolerance analysis, and product development processes is preferred.
  • Experience with server, storage, networking, or other electronics hardware platforms is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across multiple engineering disciplines.
