Prepare and direct live and taped news television broadcasts
Code rundowns for all broadcasts
Work in conjunction with editorial and production personnel to create and execute newscasts utilizing an automated production control system
Give direction and timing to talent and other technicians on broadcasts
Perform Director and Director Assist duties as required
Weekly disaster recovery training
Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum 3 years of experience television directing in a live news environment
Minimum 3 years working with and knowledge of television production equipment
Minimum 3 years of experience with computer applications working and monitoring multiple screens and software applications simultaneously in a broadcast environment
Minimum 3 years of experience with newsroom computer systems
Minimum 1 year experience with Automated Production Control systems (ROSS OverDrive preferred)
Must be willing to work in Washington D.C.
Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must be willing to join the Director’s Guild of America
Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
Traditional knowledge operating video switchers and audio consoles
Familiarity with Dalet Galaxy, ROSS Xpression, ROSS Cambotics
BA degree in Telecommunications/related field or equivalent work experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to prioritize, perform under pressure and make critical programming decisions under tight timelines
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
Positive work ethic & attitude
Team player
High degree of integrity and professionalism
Spanish language skills a plus
