Performs field engineering activities supporting the planning, coordination, execution, and verification of cable installation and cable pulling operations on the project. Works closely with Construction, Project Engineering, Procurement, Materials Management, Quality, Startup, and subcontractors to ensure cable installation activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and project schedules.
Provides technical support to field supervision and assists in resolving engineering and construction issues affecting cable installation and system completion. #LI-RM1
- Provide field engineering support for cable pulling, cable installation, and associated electrical construction activities. - Review engineering drawings, cable schedules, routing layouts, specifications, and installation procedures to support construction execution. - Coordinate cable pulling activities with Electrical Superintendents, General Foremen, subcontractors, and field crews. - Verify cable pathways, tray systems, conduit systems, penetrations, and support systems are ready for cable installation. - Prepare and maintain cable installation work packages and field engineering deliverables. - Support development of cable pulling plans, installation sequences, and construction work packages. - Monitor cable installation progress and identify constraints impacting construction productivity. - Coordinate material readiness, cable deliveries, cable reel management, and field material requirements. - Assist in resolving field technical issues, design clarifications, and constructability concerns. - Support requests for information (RFIs), field change notices, nonconformance investigations, and corrective actions. - Coordinate with Quality personnel to ensure inspection, testing, and documentation requirements are completed - Participate in work package reviews, construction readiness reviews, and turnover planning activities.\\ - Verify field installations comply with project drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and construction procedures. - Support system completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and turnover activities. - Maintain field engineering records, installation status reports, and progress metrics.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related discipline. - Typically 5+ years of electrical construction, field engineering, commissioning, power generation, industrial, or EPC project experience. - Experience supporting cable installation, cable pulling, electrical systems installation, or electrical construction activities. - Experience supporting field construction operations on industrial, power generation, manufacturing, infrastructure, or EPC projects preferred. - Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and construction work packages.
- Knowledge of electrical construction practices, cable installation methods, and cable pulling operations. - Understanding of electrical drawings, cable schedules, conduit systems, cable tray systems, and termination requirements. - Knowledge of field engineering, construction work packaging, and installation planning processes. - Understanding of electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices. - Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills. - Ability to identify and resolve field installation issues while maintaining project schedule commitments. - Strong organizational and coordination skills. - Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities. - Ability to work effectively with Construction, Engineering, Quality, Startup, Procurement, and subcontractor organizations. - Proficiency with engineering documentation systems, construction management systems, and Microsoft Office applications. - Ability to review installation status, forecast work readiness, and support construction planning activities.
