The Central Service/Sterile Processing Department (CS/SPD) plays a key role in how our operating rooms care for our patients as a whole team relies on these caregivers to successfully set up the operating room. As a CS/SPD Services Assistant, you will be responsible for testing equipment, running diagnostics, pulling case carts, putting away surgical supplies and providing dispatch services.
A caregiver in this role works evenings from 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. with rotating holiday requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Run daily diagnostic reports and conduct equipment tests. Retrieve pull sheets and follow step-by-step instructions when pulling and recording case carts.
Sock and rotate supplies and equipment. Deliver, retrieve and return case carts and other supplies to designated areas. Transport instruments and supplies to required locations within the facility.
Utilize tracking systems to monitor and manage the location and status of instrument sets. Perform other duties as assigned to support the department's operational needs.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma or GED Ability to multi-task and demonstrate proficiency in reading and writing Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Basic computer skills Physical
Requirements: Lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull and navigate supply carts weighing >than 75 pounds. Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
