Full job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Government Human Service Consultant (GHSC) - Informatics team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role can be based in Minneapolis, Atlanta, Phoenix, or Seattle and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.

Medicaid is a government-sponsored health insurance program in the United States designed to provide healthcare coverage to low-income individuals and families. As a consulting firm specializing in Medicaid, Mercer's GHSC team assists state governments in optimizing their Medicaid programs. Our team plays a vital role in managing and analyzing Medicaid claims data to enhance patient access to care, improve cost efficiency, and elevate the quality of services provided to these individuals.

- Utilize a variety of programming languages (including Python, SQL, and SAS) to interpret and analyze large health care data sets - Assist in the development of client communications, proposals, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations - Gain an understanding of health care delivery systems, specifically government-sponsored health and welfare programs, such as Medicaid and Medicare - Thrive and be motivated by an environment that embraces AI and technology-enabled tools - Work in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic consulting environment with colleagues across all organizational levels to meet and exceed client demands and deadlines - Collaborate with a focused group of colleagues on smaller team based assignments with opportunities to participate in larger scale client and industry projects

- Bachelor's degree in related field - At least 1 year of professional work experience with exposure to programming - Excellent analytical and quantitative skills - Great organizational and time management skills - Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills - Ability to work both independently and in a dynamic team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands

- Experience with programming languages such as Databricks (desired), Python, SQL, and/or SAS - Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word - Eagerness to drive results and take initiative - Creative problem-solving abilities

Marsh is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. Office-based teams will identify at least one "anchor day" per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $54,000 to $108,000.
