Description:

Strategy Practice Intro

At Lippincott, the Strategy team takes on the problems that have no clear answer but need one—the launches, pivots, and reinventions that demand original ideas and proven expertise. Our work spans three disciplines: brand strategy, marketing and customer strategy, and naming. Together with Design and Experience colleagues across the firm, we help clients navigate their biggest challenges, from rising above competitive noise, to uncovering new frontiers for growth, to crafting the signature moments that make a brand unmistakable. You'll advise leaders across markets and industries, bringing rigorous creativity and dynamic energy to every opportunity—the same spirit that's helped Lippincott shape icons, disruptors, and category-creators since 1943.

Role Overview

Brand strategy is a discipline within Lippincott's Strategy practice, and it starts with some of the hardest questions a company can ask: what do we actually stand for, and why should anyone care? But meaning only counts when it's built, requiring brand strategists to work at the highest altitude and the finest detail, shaping the argument for a company's place in the world, then following it down into the words, structures, and signature moments that make it real. Done well, a brand isn't just an idea a company holds, but an asset that wins customers, commands premiums, and compounds in value over time.

As a Senior Associate, you set the direction and hold the team to it. You’ll structure how a case gets solved—leading the thinking and the project itself—and guide the team toward deliverables that meet the highest bar of rigor and creativity, from bold brand ideas to solutions and experiences that drive tangible business results. You’re the person clients turn to for day-to-day judgment, and the person your case team turns to for both strategic direction and people leadership. When a challenge spans disciplines—which at Lippincott, it almost always does—you’re the connective tissue: ensuring the strategic idea flows coherently through every design choice, every experience decision, and every marketing move, and that the client’s needs stay at the center of it all. It’s a role that helps you to build a rare kind of range that few strategists get the chance to develop.

What You’ll Do
  • Shape and oversee the development of brand opportunities, grounded in business strategy, competitive dynamics, and customer insight
  • Structure project workplans and guide team workflow, while developing junior team members
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and delivering recommendations that reflect Lippincott’s point of view
  • Build client relationships and contribute to new business development
  • Conduct in-depth interviews with client leadership and other stakeholders
  • Manage case team resources — talent, intellectual capital, and budget
  • Draw on Lippincott’s broader expertise and frameworks to solve multi-disciplinary challenges
  • Develop presentation storylines and frameworks, and play a leading role in delivering them
  • Oversee analysis of quantitative and qualitative research, partnering with analytics specialists as needed
  • What Makes You a Great Candidate

  • At least 8 years of full-time experience in strategy consulting or a consulting environment, with a focus on brand and/or business strategy.
  • An MBA is welcome but not necessary
  • A track record of building, motivating, and leading teams
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to steer a team’s problem-solving through shifting priorities
  • The ability to lead multiple client projects simultaneously and autonomously
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively from the C-suite to entry level
  • The judgment to connect business understanding, brand implications, and creative solutions for a specific client’s challenge
  • The ability to influence and align multi-disciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders
  • Openness to travel as needed
  • A desire to build and learn side-by-side with your teams. This role follows a hybrid work schedule, with new hires expected to work from the office 3 days per week for their first 6 months. After 6 months, employees have the flexibility to choose between 2 and 3 days per week in the office.

The applicable base pay for this role is $150,000 - $190,000.

About Lippincott

Lippincott is a global brand, marketing, and experience consultancy. Since 1943, we’ve helped ambitious leaders find the beautiful answers hiding inside their toughest challenges, turning them into brands and ideas that live in the real world and create lasting business value. Who We Are, Together…

We promote a culture of collaboration and performance through our three core values:

Demanding better. Our pioneering spirit compels us to reach higher — we expect more of ourselves and each other. We also recognize the above-and-beyond dedication of our colleagues, demonstrating gratitude and offering support in our everyday actions.

Wide open. Unique perspectives, diverse personal experiences, and untapped ideas fuel our craft. We celebrate debate, discussion, disagreement, and feedback, opening ourselves to new ways of thinking and doing.

Yes, and! We champion one another and embrace optimism. We act with passion, intention, and goodwill — building on and elevating our combined contributions, and sharing in our collective success.

In our pursuit to produce meaningful change, we want our people to feel heard, respected and valued through our words and actions – goals we can only achieve with a sustained commitment to inclusion and belonging. We seek the best and brightest ideas from a variety of backgrounds and experiences because we know that’s what it takes to continuously push the boundaries, solve our clients’ most complex challenges, and foster an inspiring culture of rigorous creativity. We celebrate and leverage our differences and our commonalities so everyone feels safe, supported and encouraged to be wide open, to say “yes, and!” and to demand better of ourselves and one another. We aspire to be positive role models for inclusion at an individual level, corporate level, and societal level.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position will be eligible for performance-based incentives.

We are excited to offer a competitive total rewards package which includes health benefits, 401K savings as well as employee assistance programs.
