Your Role: Senior Project Engineer

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will support the Clinton Manufacturing site by leading the development and execution of both major capital projects and site-level capital investments that improve safety, reliability, compliance, capacity, and operational performance. In this role, you will drive projects from concept through startup and closeout while partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and external contractors to ensure successful project delivery. This is a hands-on engineering position that requires significant field presence to oversee project execution, resolve issues, and ensure safe work practices.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, execution, and closeout of capital projects, including recapitalization, growth, productivity, compliance, and major capital investments, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, User Requirements (URs), and Design Requirements (DRs), while supporting projects through the Capital Investment Committee approval process.
  • Coordinate procurement activities, contractor management, equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, and startup activities to support successful project implementation.
  • Forecast project spending, manage budgets, oversee capitalization activities, and provide regular project status updates to stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support project engineers by providing guidance on project execution, forecasting, procurement, invoicing, troubleshooting, and technical design considerations.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
  • Education: High School Diploma / GED equivalent
  • Required Experience: Minimum of 7 years of engineering and capital project experience within a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, food, consumer products, or other regulated industrial environment.
  • Top Skills: Capital project execution and project leadership; strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred qualifications):
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Experience leading capital projects greater than $2.5M from concept through startup.
  • Working knowledge of GMP-regulated manufacturing environments and commissioning/qualification processes.
  • Experience managing contractors, procurement activities, and project financial forecasting.
  • Knowledge of facility and utility systems (HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, water, etc.) and software tools including SAP, AutoCAD, CMMS systems, and project management tools.
Elanco Benefits and Perks:

We offer a comprehensive benefits package focusing on financial, physical, and mental well-being while encouraging our employees to pursue our purpose! Some highlights include:

  • Multiple relocation packages
  • Two weeklong shutdowns (mid-summer and year-end) in the US (in addition to PTO)
