  • Drive enterprise-wide solutions for duty optimization and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) strategies while managing engagements with government agencies such as CBP, BIS, and OFAC.
  • Manage legal aspects of customs investigations, voluntary self-disclosures, and trade due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures to ensure seamless business integration.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in international trade law, encompassing CBP regulations, HTS classification, customs valuation, and sanctions compliance within a law firm or multinational environment.
  • Key Skills: Expertise in drafting trade compliance policies/training materials and advising on trade compliance across international jurisdictions and supply chains.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, animal health, or life sciences industry.
  • Working knowledge of EU and other major international export control and sanctions regimes.
  • Familiarity with Global Trade Management systems, such as SAP GTS.
  • Knowledge of FDA and USDA import requirements applicable to veterinary pharmaceuticals and biologics.
  • Prior experience managing trade-related aspects of large-scale M&A transactions and post-closing integration.
