ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Administrative Assistant IIs perform moderately difficult administrative duties, which involve researching, reviewing information, and providing alternatives for administrative assignments of limited scope; preparing various reports; and serving as liaison to other areas within the Court. Administrative Assistants II carry out their assignments under general supervision and are required to apply a thorough knowledge of Court and unit policies and procedures, as well as use judgment in selecting and modifying appropriate procedures to resolve a wide variety of routine to non-routine and moderately complex problems.
Key Responsibilities Perform bookkeeping tasks and preparing reports. Compile data, maintain records, and generate statistical and operational reports. Coordinate facility maintenance, equipment repairs, and office moves.
Manage procurement, inventory, and vendor billing issues. Provide general administrative support, including answering calls, scheduling meetings, and preparing correspondence. Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with court policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To qualify, you must meet one of the following options at the final filing date of this bulletin: Option I: 60 semester (90 quarter) units from an accredited college or university* and two (2) years of responsible office administrative or secretarial experience**. Note: Credit for experience is based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a pro rate basis (e.g. working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience). Overtime does not count toward additional credit.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Excellent written and oral communication skills. Work effectively, in a team environment and independently. Ability to and follow through on assignments.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. Experience implementing technologies to facilitate meetings, and training opportunities. Strong experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Power Point, and Outlook.

Bereavement leave Retirement Deferred Compensation Plan (457) - Optional tax-deferred supplemental retirement plan that includes a County match of up to 4% of employee's salary. If the candidate is a "new member" of the County's defined benefit plan (LACERA) on or after January 1, 2013, that person's pension will be limited under the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act (PEPRA).
