WHAT YOU'LL DO Food Service - In consultation with managers, maintain an appropriate volume of plates on the conveyor belt at all times, proactively responding to peak/off-peak service times. - Monitor the length of time dishes are on the conveyor belt during quieter services, ensuring this does not exceed health & safety regulations. - Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of menu items, specials, and ingredients, and be able to explain these to other staff members. - Prepare and serve dishes, following company recipes and ensuring quality and presentation standards are met. - Respond to customer queries positively and politely. - Continuously develop knowledge of British cheese, including provenance, milk treatment, rennet type, and proper care of produce. - Be aware of allergy information across all menu items, providing recommendations or alternatives where necessary. - Help to ensure service is as smooth and continuous as possible. - Monitor portion and waste control, following existing control measures. - Keep your section clean and tidy throughout service. - Receive deliveries and maintain the correct food storage, following First In First Out stock rotation protocol. - Inform senior staff of stock that needs to be ordered from suppliers in a timely manner, using any existing systems. - Support senior staff in creating and maintaining a positive, calm working environment, cooperating with all staff members and teams throughout the restaurant. - Communicate any service-related issues to senior staff promptly.
Personal - Maintain excellent timekeeping. - Maintain high standards of personal hygiene. - Look after your allocated uniform, ensuring it remains presentable. - Maintain a proactive attitude and use your initiative whilst working, helping other team members when time allows. Health & Safety - Maintain rigorous standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety. - Encourage safe working habits and a safe working environment at all times. - Complete daily temperature records and daily and weekly health & safety checklists. - Ensure all H&S policies and practices, including HACCP, are adhered to. - Dispose of waste according to company guidelines. - Familiarize yourself with all relevant equipment, including procedures for use and safety, as well as proper care and maintenance. - Highlight any issues concerning maintenance of H&S (bad practice, equipment faults, etc.) to senior staff in a timely manner.
Other - Perform other duties as reasonably requested by senior staff.
QUALIFICATIONS - 1+ year of kitchen or prep experience preferred, but a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are essential. - A passion for great food, British cheese, and creating memorable guest experiences. - Strong attention to detail and time management in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. - Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (Food Handler's Certificate required upon hire). - Team-oriented, with clear communication and a proactive approach to work.
