Essential Duties Provide executive leadership for CSDB's statewide Outreach and Early Education Programs. Develop and implement strategic initiatives aligned with CSDB's mission and organizational priorities.
Lead, supervise, mentor, and evaluate Outreach administrators and staff. Develop and manage departmental budgets and resources. Foster collaborative partnerships with school districts, BOCES, state agencies, families, and community organizations.
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and grant requirements. Utilize data to evaluate program effectiveness and guide continuous improvement. Promote inclusive leadership, organizational culture, and workforce development.
Support statewide professional development and technical assistance. Represent CSDB at local, state, and national meetings.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights Required Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Educational Leadership, Special Education, Public Administration, Human Services, or a closely related field. Five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in education, special education, outreach services, or program administration.
Experience supervising professional staff. Experience managing budgets, strategic initiatives, or organizational operations. Preferred Master's degree or higher.
Colorado Principal, Administrator, or Director License. Experience working with Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Blind, Visually Impaired, or DeafBlind populations. Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, ADA, and special education law.
Experience working with statewide educational systems or public agencies. Fluency in or working knowledge of American Sign Language. Conditions of Employment Must successfully pass a background investigation.
Must possess or obtain a valid Colorado Driver License. Periodic statewide travel required. Evening and weekend work may occasionally be required.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all State of Colorado pre-employment requirements. Special Qualifications The position of American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor is assigned to work with students, staff and others who are Deaf/hard-of-hearing and requires proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) at the Intermediate skill level.
