What we do:
The Driver License section provides Colorado credentials to the citizens throughout the state which include driver licenses, instruction permits, commercial driver licenses, and identification cards.
This position reports onsite at the Centennial Driver License Office, located at 5120 E Arapahoe Road, Centennial CO 80122. May be required to travel and work between multiple Driver License Offices.
The successful candidate will be required to sit and stand for long periods throughout the day.
In this trainee role, you will learn to ensure compliance with Colorado Revised Statutes and Federal laws, Department policies, rules and procedures in the issuance of Colorado documents to qualified applicants. Newly hired (or transferred) Driver License Technician Trainees are designated "in training" for the first year in this position.
Driver License Technician Trainees receive Driver License Fundamentals (DLF) training and regular DLF skills evaluations. Before completing one year in position Driver License Technician Trainees are required to complete DLF Certification. After one year in the position, the Trainee may be reallocated to a Technician II.
Failure to achieve DLF Certification during the first year in position may result in removal from position and possible termination of employment.
