Full job description

About the opportunity This position will be dedicated to supporting QIAGEN's core instruments and chemistries in the field, which will include instrument installations and customer training, on-site troubleshooting, demos, and other pre- and post-sale technical support in the assigned territory. This role requires a highly motivated, customer-focused technical professional who can serve as a trusted resource for customers while supporting QIAGEN's commercial and technical objectives.

Your profile Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or equivalent with 3-5 years of laboratory and automation experience. PhD or Master's degree in molecular biology or a related field highly desirable. Extensive practical/lab experience, and/or 3-5 years in technical sales or field-based customer support functions.

Deep knowledge of wet lab molecular biology and genomics workflows is a must. Experience with qPCR is highly desirable. NGS, and dPCR applications would be helpful.

Robotic programming and technical training experience highly desirable. Experience with CRM software (particularly Salesforce.com) highly desirable. A customer-facing personality, including the ability to build positive relationships and engage in scientific discussions with customers.

A strong desire to work with customers to understand their experimental needs and recommend QIAGEN solutions that accomplish their scientific goals. Ability to effectively troubleshoot and solve customers' technical problems by phone, email, webinar, and in-person. Ability to travel overnight (mostly domestic) an average of 70-80%, 3-4 days a week This role will primarily support the Mid-Atlantic region, including Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia; however, travel outside of this region may be required based on business needs (Candidate ideally will be based in D.C, Maryland, and Northern Virginia).

The estimated base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $115,000.

Compensation will be based on the candidate's experience, skills, geographic location, and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary, we offer a total compensation package that includes a bonus plan and generous benefits.
