Full job description

the opportunity to be a leader and influencer in the architectural design decisions to protect our products in an ever-growing threat environment. The person in this role will be asked to provide guidance to pursuit teams, product lines, and all levels of management to aid in meeting customer needs. You will be asked to guard some of the most sensitive data in the world alongside other experienced cybersecurity engineers.

Everyday new threats and risks are faced and you can be part of incorporation of new methodologies and protections for our products. This role will be worked onsite in Richardson, TX. Relocation assistance is not available.

Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD TOP SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date.

What You Will Do: Support teams of hardware, software, and systems engineers to develop, integrate, and evaluate new cybersecurity technologies to be deployed within size, weight, and power-constrained mission-critical environments Ensure system security requirements are established and maintained for operations development, security requirements definition, security risk assessment, system analysis, systems design, and systems hardening Participate in technical proposal preparation specific to cybersecurity for current pursuits Support the planning and execution of cybersecurity activities including scope, schedule, budget, earned value, and risk and opportunity management Contribute to strategic research roadmaps for the development and transition of new security technologies to embedded platforms as well as information services Assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle Provide recommendations to engineering and business leadership in the area of cybersecurity Support special access programs and understand that tasks will need to be completed in isolated areas on-site Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience ACTIVE and transferable TOP SECRET U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for security clearances Experience in operating systems, computer architecture, security protocols, encryption, authentication, secure architectural patterns, and security fundamentals Hands-on scripting/automation experience (Python, Powershell, Bash, Terraform) Experience leading engineering initiatives and influence technical direction Experience integrating RMF/Information Security into DoD System Acquisition Lifecycle Experience developing, updating, and/or reviewing RMF documentation to include Security Plans, Implementation Plans, Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and Risk Assessment Reports Experience with assessing systems using NIST 800-53, DISA STIGs and SRGs, ACAS, Tenable Security Center Security+ certification Knowledge of system development and life cycle Qualifications We Prefer: Familiarity with agile development, model-based systems engineering (MBSE) Presentation skills with the ability to present to a variety of audiences (internal and external) Strong verbal and written communication skills Compliant with DoD 8570.01-M via technical certifications such as Network+, CCNA Security, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GIAC or other relevant information assurance certifications (SANS, EC-Council, etc.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
