Full job description

Symmetrio is recruiting a Lead QA Engineer - AI & Test Automation to support a large-scale enterprise workforce transformation initiative centered around a greenfield implementation of WorkForce Software and related operational systems. This role will lead end-to-end quality assurance efforts across workforce management, payroll-impacting workflows, scheduling operations, and enterprise integrations while driving a modern automation-first testing strategy focused on scalability, operational reliability, and successful enterprise deployment.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience supporting enterprise workforce management, with strong expertise in QA automation, integration testing, and workforce business process validation. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the successful implementation of complex workforce modules including Time & Attendance, Scheduling, Absence Management, workforce compliance, payroll integrations, and employee self-service functionality across a highly integrated enterprise environment.

This position requires a combination of technical QA leadership, workforce domain expertise, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams, implementation partners, HR/payroll stakeholders, and business operations leaders throughout all phases of the implementation lifecycle.

Responsibilities

- Lead quality assurance initiatives supporting a greenfield WorkForce Software implementation across enterprise workforce management systems and integrated business platforms. - Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies spanning functional, integration, regression, UAT, payroll parallel, performance, and release validation activities. - Design, build, and oversee scalable automated testing frameworks supporting UI, API, backend, and enterprise integration testing efforts. - Validate critical workforce management modules including:

- Time & Attendance - Scheduling and Shift Management - Absence Management and Accruals - Workforce Compliance and Pay Rules - Employee Self-Service and Mobile Workforce functionality - Payroll and HRIS integrations

- Partner closely with HR, payroll, workforce management, operations, and implementation teams to validate workforce business processes, pay calculations, labor rules, scheduling logic, and compliance requirements. - Lead testing efforts surrounding complex workforce scenarios including overtime rules, accrual policies, shift differentials, union requirements, meal break compliance, and payroll-impacting workflows. - Drive enterprise integration testing activities across HRIS, payroll, ERP, identity management, middleware, and other connected enterprise systems. - Establish automation-first QA practices designed to improve test coverage, reduce manual testing effort, and accelerate release readiness throughout implementation phases. - Support modern QA capabilities including AI-assisted testing, intelligent automation, automated defect analysis, and advanced quality reporting initiatives. - Develop reporting dashboards and quality metrics that provide visibility into testing progress, defect trends, release risk, and overall implementation readiness.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. - Strong experience leading QA initiatives within enterprise workforce management, HCM, payroll, or large-scale business system implementations. - Hands-on experience building or managing automated testing frameworks within complex enterprise environments. - Experience supporting workforce management platforms such as WorkForce Software, UKG Kronos, Dayforce, ADP, or similar workforce/payroll systems. - Strong understanding of workforce management concepts including:

- Time & Attendance - Pay Rules - Scheduling - Accruals and Leave Management - Payroll processing - Workforce compliance

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience supporting greenfield workforce management implementations. - Experience testing complex workforce/payroll environments with high-volume hourly employee populations. - Familiarity with workforce compliance requirements including overtime regulations, labor laws, union environments, and payroll governance. - Experience with AI-assisted testing tools, intelligent automation platforms, or advanced quality analytics capabilities. - Experience with SQL, API validation, data reconciliation, and enterprise integration testing. - Scripting or programming experience using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or similar languages used within automation engineering. - Experience supporting enterprise digital transformation or large-scale operational modernization initiatives. - Relevant QA, Agile, or automation certifications are a plus.
