Full job description

Manager, Product Manager • Enterprise Payments • Scheduled Payments

Product Management at Capital One is a booming, vibrant craft that requires reimagining the status quo, finding value creation opportunities, and driving innovative and sustainable customer experiences through technology. We believe our portfolio of businesses and investments in growth and transformation will result in a company with the scale, brand, capabilities, talent, and values to succeed as the digital revolution transforms our society and our industry.

Capital One’s Enterprise Payments team is defining the roadmap that will enable the bank’s overall digital payments strategy, modernizing existing payment types and introducing the latest innovations. In an industry rooted in mainframe systems and batch processes, we are driving toward a cloud-based, API/microservice architected, real-time data environment.

The world is moving toward faster payments and Capital One is not just ahead of the curve, but defining it. We are a tech-centric company and an innovation laboratory within the only founder-led, top 10 bank in the U.S.

The Product Manager for the Enterprise Payments team plays a critical role in achieving our goals. This is a highly collaborative role, where the individual will work closely with a team of product managers as well partnering with designers, engineers, data scientists, operations, and business partners to transform the experience for all of our customers.

Through this collaboration, the individual will shape the product strategy and then develop, launch, and enhance payments experiences that will meet the unique needs of our customers, ranging from consumer to small business to commercial personas across both lending and deposit products.

As a Manager on the Enterprise Payment Platforms Product team, you will own the Scheduler Platform

  • Capital One's core data store for all scheduled transaction generation, storage, and execution across millions of bank customers. This is a high-leverage infrastructure product that sits at the center of Capital One's most critical payment initiatives supporting Retail, Small Business, and Commercial Bank. You will lead product strategy and delivery for a platform that handles complex scheduling logic across multiple payment rails — including Internal Transfers, ACH, RTP, Zelle, Wire, and Check — while simultaneously expanding into next-generation capabilities like Predictive Scheduling and real-time payment enablement.

This role is for someone who is comfortable defining product direction in ambiguous, high-stakes environments, translating enterprise-scale technical architecture into clear business outcomes, and driving alignment across partners who have competing priorities and tight delivery windows.

In this role, you’ll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in five key areas which we consider to be the foundation for successful Product Management:

  • Human Centered
  • Obsesses about internal and external customer needs to reimagine and innovate product solutions
  • Business Focused
  • Delivers game-changing outcomes by focusing on leverage and execution excellence
  • Technology Driven
  • Leverages technology to deliver innovative and resilient solutions that enable both near term and long term value
  • Integrated Problem Solving
  • Identifies and resolves complex problems to deliver outcomes while mitigating product risks
  • Transformational Leadership
  • Leads cross functional teams to solve customer problems and drive organizational alignment
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:
  • A Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field), Business or Marketing
  • Bachelor's degree in any field and at least 3 years of Product Management experience
  • Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products
