The Sr. Fullstack Software Engineer will perform all duties in the software development process ranging from requirements definition and design through implementation, integration, test, deployment, and improvement, with a primary focus on full stack development — React-based web applications, backend services and APIs, and cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure — for enterprise-level dental imaging and treatment planning platforms.
The position will use in-depth technical and business knowledge to solve complex problems and improve products with a new perspective using existing solutions. The position performs tasks independently with minimal guidance, acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and provides leadership to peers. The position impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service objectives within R&D.

- Takes technical ownership of major subsystems of the cloud imaging platform — including their architecture, quality, security, and ongoing evolution — serving as the accountable engineer from design through deployment and post-release support.
- Estimates development efforts and provides accurate work progress status.
- Produces and maintains all software engineering deliverables including software documentation, code, test plans and test results.
- Assures that deliverables meet all relevant quality, safety, regulatory, serviceability, and reliability requirements.
- Reviews code proposals and submissions of teammates individually and in Design Reviews.
- Designs and develops scalable, high-performance backend services and RESTful APIs using C#/.NET for multi-tenant dental imaging and treatment planning platforms, including authentication and authorization (JWT, SSO, RBAC).
- Designs and develops React-based web applications, including user interfaces for dental imaging viewers and real-time features for acquisition workflows.
- Builds and deploys cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure, including containerized applications (Docker), cloud storage of imaging studies, and monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Designs and optimizes database schemas for patient records, study management, and imaging metadata (SQL Server/PostgreSQL), including query optimization for large imaging datasets.
- Develops DICOM and intraoral X-ray ingestion and processing pipelines, including background job processing for imaging workflows.
- Implements security measures for sensitive medical data, including encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access control, and support for HIPAA and GDPR compliance.
- Builds and maintains CI/CD pipelines that support regulatory compliance.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering disciplines.
- 8+ years of related experience in related field.
- C#, .NET, backend service and API development.
- Azure infrastructure and service development (e.g., App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Key Vault).
- Cloud-native architecture (microservices, containers/Docker, API gateways).
- React, TypeScript, and related frontend technologies; user interface development.
- SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL database design and query optimization.
- Authentication and authorization technologies (JWT, SSO, OAuth 2.0, RBAC).
- CI/CD pipeline development, Terraform, YAML.
- Medical imaging standards and workflows (DICOM, CBCT, intraoral imaging).
- Security and privacy frameworks for healthcare data (HIPAA, GDPR).
- Software development in an FDA-regulated industry.
- Experience working within a prescribed software development process.
