Full job description

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Los Angeles Superior Court is seeking dynamic, well-qualified, and highly-motivated individuals to fill full-time (A-Status), part-time (C-Status), and hourly as needed (F-Status) Court Interpreter positions.

Under supervision, Court Interpreters perform a wide variety of language interpretation activities on an assigned and as-needed basis for Los Angeles Superior Court and for persons doing business with the courts.

Incumbents perform duties as an interpreter for courtroom and other legal proceedings, which may include, but are not limited to arraignments, preliminary hearing, pre-trial conference and court trials.

SALARY Full-time (A-Status): $7,365.73 - $8,435.09 Monthly Part-time (C-Status): $338.66 - $387.82 Full Day $187.45 - $214.66 Half Day Hourly as needed (F-Status): $42.33 - $48.48 Hourly BENEFITS (Full-Time) Comprehensive benefits plan (with options for medical, dental, vision, disability, dependent care spending accounts, and life) Deferred compensation plan 457 with up to 4% salary match & a 401k (no match) Retirement plan (through LA County Employees Retirement Association) Paid Sick and Vacation Leave 14 Paid Holidays Bereavement Leave Mileage and Parking Reimbursement Employee Assistance Program Unlimited Paid Jury Duty Leave Reciprocity relationship between certain public retirement systems in California The information contained herein concerning the benefit package available to incumbents in this classification is based on an employee's appointment to a full-time, permanent position in the Court in this classification.

The specific benefit package any individual employee may receive is subject to change based on that employee's particular employment status and payroll title.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS To qualify, you must meet one of the following options at the time of application: OPTION I: Certified as a Court Interpreter in a designated language in Los Angeles County by the Judicial Council of California.

OPTION II: Registered as a Court Interpreter in a non-designated language in Los Angeles County by the Judicial Council of California. APPLICANT SUPPORT & INFORMATION Applications must be submitted online.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicants who best meet job-related qualifications will be placed on an eligible list which will remain active for approximately one (1) year and may be invited to participate in a selection interview.
