Full job description

The Material Handler performs multiple duties of handling, processing, and disposal of certain material. The material maybe sawdust, incinerated or waste material.

  • Job related experience is preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Decision making/problem solving skills
  • Lift up to 100 lbs. at waist level, up to 80 lbs. at shoulder level, and up to 80 lbs. at floor level on an occasional basis when handling products.
  • Push or pull with up to 100 lbs. of force on an occasional basis when moving products.
  • Generate up to 80 lbs. of grip strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling products.
  • Generate up to 15 lbs. of pinch strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling products.
  • Display average coordination with each hand on a continuous basis while performing job tasks.
  • Climb ladder or machines on an occasional basis while performing job tasks.
  • Perform elevated work on an occasional basis when handling products.
  • Stoop, kneel or squat on an occasional basis when handling products.
  • Reach forward and to the side on a frequent basis when handling products.
  • Stand and walk on a continuous basis during the course of each shift.
  • This job requires the use of close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth vision.
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 10 hours per day.
  • Pass drug screen
  • Pass pre-work ability screen
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Pass pre-employment tests
  • Pass vision screening test
  • Work in a team environment with the ability to communicate in a concise, polite and respectful manner
  • Noise level requires hearing protection in designated areas
  • Season high temperatures and humidity
  • Work with hazardous material
  • Comply with safety, quality, and production requirements and procedures
  • Regular/dependable attendance required
  • Flexibility of work hours including overtime
  • Able to work with and around moving equipment
  • Operate equipment that requires close control and adjustment
  • Take and pass initial hazardous waste training and attend annual refresher course
  • Sawdust technician will be required to maintain a Class B Electrician license
  • Must maintain a PIV License
  • Ability to rotate to other positions as needed
