Job Description Summary:

Pay Range: $55k-$60k

Hybrid: 3940 N. Ravenswood, Chicago, IL

Role Overview:

We're hiring a Junior Marketing Automation Specialist to join our marketing automation team. In this role, you'll build and maintain the custom automations that connect and power our marketing technology stack. Early on, the emphasis is on learning the technical backends of our platforms—APIs, data schemas, authentication, and how data flows between systems—and translating marketing needs into working automations using visual workflow builders. This is a hands-on, build-focused role for someone who's curious about how systems connect and motivated to grow their technical depth quickly.

Responsibilities

Build initial (V1) automations using visual workflow builder tools such as Microsoft Power Automate, Adobe Workfront Fusion, Workato, etc. to connect and support our marketing platforms

Learn the technical backends of the platforms in our stack—APIs, data schemas, authentication methods, and how data moves between systems—and apply that understanding to build efficient, reliable automations

Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot existing automations (especially those you've built), ensuring uptime, data integrity, and consistent performance

Think creatively to design automation solutions that meet evolving business and marketing needs, and identify opportunities to improve or streamline existing workflows

Apply data-integrity and security best practices throughout the automation lifecycle (data handling, access, and connection management)

Document automations clearly—workflows, data mappings, dependencies, and known edge cases—so they're maintainable over time

Provide a small amount of direct platform support, primarily handling escalations that stem from automation gaps or failures

Collaborate closely with the marketing automation team, and support automation needs on projects owned by other teams as needed

Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

Working familiarity with how automations function—how they connect platforms, the role of APIs, why data integrity matters, and basic security considerations—or a strong aptitude and eagerness to learn these quickly (required)

Practical experience building automations with visual workflow builder tools (Power Automate, Workfront Fusion, Workato, or similar) required

Familiarity with common mortgage marketing technology platforms (e.g., Total Expert, MonitorBase, HomeBot, Yext, Evocalize, Relcu, OneTrust) is preferred, but not required

Detail-oriented, with a methodical approach to building and debugging

Creative problem solver who can see the possibilities in a platform and design practical solutions

Curious and self-motivated, with a genuine interest in learning technical systems

Clear communicator, able to explain technical concepts and document work for others

Experience with utilizing AI (Anthropic & OpenAI models) to solve problems, perform research and build mockup workflows

Self-starter who also thrives as part of a team

Adaptable and able to pivot as business needs change and evolve

Additional Job Description Summary:

The company offers a comprehensive benefits program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; critical care insurance; personal accidental insurance; commuter benefits; pet insurance; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program); and other supplemental benefits (e.g. legal planning assistance; identity theft protection; pet insurance; wellness resources).
