Veterinary Assistant

Great Lakes Hospital for Animals | Belmont, Michigan

Great Lakes Hospital for Animals is growing, and we are excited to expand our footprint in the community. We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant who is compassionate, dependable, eager to learn, and ready to be an active part of a busy veterinary team.

Our Veterinary Assistants play an important role in patient care and hospital flow. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys helping animals, supporting teammates, and making a difference every day.

Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians with patient care
  • Help with restraint, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Assist with hospitalized and surgical patients
  • Support laboratory and pharmacy workflows
  • Help keep patients comfortable, clean, and safe
  • Communicate with clients as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records and support efficient hospital flow
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, CSRs, and fellow assistants
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional environment

Veterinary experience is a plus, but we are also interested in candidates with strong animal-handling, medical, or service experience who are eager to grow.
