we are looking for an avionics hardware engineer who is intellectually curious, holds a strong desire to continuously improve the capability and quality of products, and is dedicated to safety. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
- Travel expected up to 20% of the time. Most work will reside in Kent, WA.
- Predominately 1st shift M-F; however, some evening or weekend work may be required during prime test campaigns
Supporting C&DH and PMAD Responsible Engineers in avionics box lifecycle development in areas such as:
- Hardware build, integration, and test of Engineering Development Unit (EDU) and flight hardware
- Root cause analyses for hardware failures and mitigation plan development
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, or other related field
- Complex hardware design experience in product design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR)
- Knowledge of / experience in requirements development and
requirements-based verification
- Familiarity with integrated systems verification, including developing hardware verification test plans and verification test reports for certification / qualification
- Master of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related fields
- Successful candidates typically have 6+ years of proven track record in design, development, or test of space industry avionics components and systems
- Experience developing digital, analog, and / or mixed-signal circuit board designs for avionics systems (including design, prototyping, schematics, layout, test and verification)
- Experience in circuit analysis and simulation, such as worst-case circuit analysis, signal integrity analysis, and logic or P-Spice simulation
- Experience in grounding and general board layout principles, including EMI/EMC tradeoffs
- Experience with Jama or similar requirements management tools
- Experience with MIL-STD/DO-160/SMC-S-016 environmental qualification testing of avionics hardware
- Familiarity with ARP 4754 and/or DO-254/DO-178 or similar standards
- Familiarity with hardware development, integration, or verification
Compensation Range for: CO applicants is $119,814.00 - $167,738.55 WA applicants is $130,706.00 - $182,987.70
- Required for all positions: Blue's Standard Background Check
- Required for Certain Job Profiles: Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check if at any time the role requires one to be on a military installation
- Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
- Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
