Full job description

We are looking for thermal/fluids engineers from intermediate to senior as we expand our portfolio of space vehicles. You will take ownership or support analysis tasks of a complex fluid system by conducting 1D-3D thermal and fluids analysis and contribute to our product life cycle process from early conceptual design through completion of the flight mission.

Analysis team contributes to deriving component requirements, system test requirements, and system sizing and analyze flight or ground process. You will be responsible for documentation and maintenance of analysis inputs, models, and presenting results to stakeholders.

- Minimum of BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

- Successful candidates have more than 4-year of direct experience on Space applications Fluids & Propulsion analysis experience

- Strong understanding of thermal and fluid mechanics of cryogenics, hypergolics, and compressibles with relevant experience preferably in space industry (We are looking for engineers of all skill levels from beginner to advanced)

- Have experience in running technical propulsion system trade studies

- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

- Work closely with other cross functional team as needed (e.g., systems engineers to develop and verify requirements, Design team to support sizing and trade studies, procurement to choose the best supplier)

- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

- Experience with modeling propulsion/cryogenic fluids management (storage, transfer, phase change,...)

- Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) (Flow3D, CFD++, ANSYS Fluent)

- Knowledge of other tools including MATLAB, Simulink, Amesim

- Successful candidates typically have relevant proven experience in design and analysis of aerospace thermal systems

- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C/C++, FORTRAN)

- Active/passive Thermal/Pressure Control System/component design

Base Pay Range for: CA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20 CO applicants is $110,938.00 - $155,312.85 WA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20

- Required for all positions: Blue's Standard Background Check

- Required for Certain Job Profiles: Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check if at any time the role requires one to be on a military installation

- Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

- Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
