Full job description

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Manager, Flight Systems to lead a team of engineers dedicated to the complete flight reentry system. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring mission success and optimizing vehicle performance by leveraging both hardware and software expertise. The ideal candidate will guide the team using modern methodologies including Agile development, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Model-Based Development with a Digital Twin/Thread.

A strong background in Autonomy and AI/ML is desired, along with familiarity with Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) hardware and software. You should also possess a comprehensive understanding of avionics systems-including power, communications, and flight computing-for space and hypersonic environments. A key responsibility will be to effectively communicate vehicle performance validated through simulation, software-in-the-loop, and hardware-in-the-loop demonstrations.

- Lead and mentor a team of GNC and Avionics engineers. - Oversee the complete lifecycle of flight systems, from preliminary design to flight operations. - Manage flight system development schedules, resources, and budgets to ensure milestones are met. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including structures, propulsion, and software, to ensure system integration.

- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - 10+ years of experience in the aerospace industry. - Proven experience in a leadership or management role. - Strong understanding of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) and/or Avionics systems. - Ability to manage 6+ direct reports - Current Clearance TS/SCI or ability to hold TS/SCI

- Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering discipline. - Direct experience with reentry and/or hypersonic vehicle systems. - Demonstrated experience managing complex aerospace projects.

Base Pay Range for: CA applicants is $183,807.00 - $257,328.75 CO applicants is $169,008.00 - $236,611.20 WA applicants is $183,807.00 - $257,328.75

- Required for all positions: Blue's Standard Background Check

- Required for Certain Job Profiles: Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check if at any time the role requires one to be on a military installation

- Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

- Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
