Full job description

We are looking for a developing structural engineer with foundational design and analysis experience, drawing and modeling proficiency, and a genuine doer mindset - someone eager to put boots on the ground, stand behind their designs, and ensure successful implementation.

Special Mentions Relocation provided Travel expected up to 20% of the time Interviews will include a technical assessment Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Execute clearly-scoped design assignments end-to-end with some oversight from senior engineers Develop 3D CAD models and 2D drawing packages to industry standards (ASME Y14.5) for components and assemblies Perform structural and mechanical analysis using FEA software and hand calculations; document load cases, factors of safety, and margins Contribute to system safety analyses such as Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and similar Support definition of hardware test scope and configurations, including non-destructive evaluation, proof testing, operational testing, and weld inspection Support activation and commissioning planning; participate in field installation and commissioning activities Coordinate with vendors and manufacturing teams during fabrication; escalate technical issues to senior engineers when appropriate Present design work in technical reviews and incorporate feedback from senior engineers and stakeholders Support identification and communication of project technical, cost, and schedule risks Travel to support hardware installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting at internal facilities and external vendors Minimum Qualifications B.S. degree in mechanical, civil, or aerospace engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution 2-4 years of experience designing or analyzing structural/mechanical systems, tooling, or industrial equipment Demonstrated ability to execute scoped design assignments end-to-end with some oversight Working proficiency with CAD and FEA software (Creo and ANSYS preferred) Intermediate drawing and modeling proficiency, including detail and assembly drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) Experience designing and analyzing steel or aluminum welded structures Awareness of industry codes and standards for structural equipment and tooling (e.g., ASME B30.20/BTH-1, OSHA, AISC-360, ASCE-7, Aluminum Design Manual) Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes (milling, turning, cutting, welding) and ability to design for fabrication Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical work clearly Willingness to travel up to 20% to support hardware installation, commissioning, and field activities Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications M.S. degree in mechanical, civil, or aerospace engineering Internship, co-op, or full-time experience designing structural equipment or tooling for aerospace, propulsion, or other heavy industrial applications Hands-on experience constructing or repairing mechanical components and systems, acquired through personal pursuits or professional experience Hands-on experience designing and building welded steel or aluminum structures Exposure to hydraulic or pneumatic mechanical systems Exposure to ASME B31.3 for Process Piping Hands-on experience operating manufacturing equipment (machining, welding, fabrication) Proficiency in tolerance stack-up analysis Experience with PDM/PLM version control systems Base Pay Range for: WA applicants is $99,201.00 - $138,880.35 Other site ranges may differ Culture Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?

Stock Options for all regular employees (working at least 20 hours/week) Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
