The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of production equipment and facility systems. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime and ensuring that all machinery operates safely and efficiently. The technician must have broad technical knowledge and strong problem-solving abilities to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Maintenance and Repair
- Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on production equipment and facility infrastructure.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and related system issues.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and work orders.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Utilize hand and power tools, meters, and other diagnostic equipment in maintenance activities.
- Operational Support
- Respond to breakdowns quickly and efficiently to minimize disruption to production.
- Perform light machining and fabrication duties as needed.
- Operate forklifts and scissor lifts to access equipment and complete repairs safely.
- Maintain communication with the production team to report status updates and coordinate support.
- Safety and Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and equipment operating guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Report any safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, or irregularities to supervision.
- Continuous Improvement
- Participate in identifying and implementing solutions to improve maintenance effectiveness and reliability.
- Provide input on spare parts inventory and equipment upgrades.
- Assist in projects related to facility improvements and new equipment installation.

- Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance, or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing maintenance role.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience using a variety of hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic devices.
- Familiarity with plastic extrusion equipment is preferred but not required.
- Basic computer skills and strong math aptitude.
- High attention to detail with strong technical skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
- Dedicated to safe work practices and high-quality results.
- Strong sense of urgency and commitment to minimizing downtime.
- Takes pride in maintaining clean and organized work areas and shop environments.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat.
- Must have adequate vision (close, distance, color, and peripheral) and manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment.
