responsibilities: The LSM manages the Statewide Maintenance of Traffic and Access Equipment contract for structure condition inspection.

This 2-year, approximately $15M contract, is critical for meeting the NBIS requirements by providing MOT services required to close traffic lanes to inspect bridges safely.

Additionally, this contract provides the access equipment (such as under-bridge cranes and bucket trucks) needed to perform hands-on bridge inspections where required.

The contract-supplied access equipment supplements SHA-owned equipment. The LSM coordinates with the district traffic offices to obtain lane closure permits for consultant inspection teams to maintain traffic and provide a safe work zone.

The LSM schedules MOT crews and inspection access equipment for both in-house inspection teams and consultants. Both utilize the MOT crews and equipment year around.

The LSM is responsible for tracking the safety inspection documentation for both SHA-owned and contract-supplied access equipment. MDOT offers a generous and competitive benefits package.

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS: Education : Possession of a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.

Experience : Two (2) years of experience in professional engineering. Selective Qualification: One (1) year of experience in bridge inspection or bridge engineering. *This statement contains a selective qualification, which is more focused in scope than the minimum qualifications for this classification.

Selective qualifications are utilized when the position requires specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (i.e., knowledge, skill or ability).

Notes: 1. Additional work experience in professional engineering, or in technical engineering at the journey level or above, may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education. 2.

Possession of a master's degree in engineering may be substituted for one year of the required experience. 3. Persons currently registered as Professional Engineers in the state of Maryland, or in a state with comparable requirements, are considered to have met the education requirements.

Licenses & Certifications Candidates must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland .
