Full job description

- Build security doors based on drawings, work instructions, and electrical schematics.

- Use power tools and hand tools to assemble door components.

- Pull material and stage for various levels of assembly operations.

- Mechanically adjust as needed to ensure proper door operation.

- Maintain all inventory processes, labor, material, and product tracking.

- Inspect sub-components and assembled products for any defects or non-compliance to prints; Document as required per the quality system.

- Visually inspect all products for defects per specifications.

- Ensure that safety protocols are followed while in the facility.

- Load finished assemblies into crates with the proper subcomponents and document crate contents as required.

- Label/mark completed crates as required for proper identification and shipping.

- Provide input, collaborate with Harden team members, and implement process improvements to improve safety, quality, delivery, and costs.

To excel in this role, the Door Assembly Technician should also have the following:

- Solid understanding of proper assembly procedures, mechanical aptitude, and of machinery and hand tools.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.

- Knowledge of strapping and rigging for the use of overhead cranes.

- Ability to understand dimensions in both Metric and Imperial.

- Ability to understand and convert dimensions between decimals and fractions.

- Knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations.

- Ability to stand / walk / work on a concrete floor for 10 hours per day.

- Good physical stamina (lifting heavy equipment) and ability to stand for extended periods of time.

- Ability to operate machinery in a safe and controlled manner.

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent qualification

- Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with mechanical assembly

- Follow all Harden policies and procedures regarding safety and quality.

Functions in a live production environment much of the time. Work requires the ability to walk the production floor and other areas of the manufacturing facility. The position requires good physical fitness and an understanding of appropriate lifting techniques and tool safety.

May need to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. Excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required. The environment has moderate noise levels and fluctuating temperatures associated with equipment and production machines.
