Field Technician - Earthmoving

The Field Technician is responsible for performing service and repair work on equipment while working both independently and as part of a team. This role requires the ability to accurately evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair earthmoving equipment in the field and in shop environments. The Field Technician must successfully complete on‑the‑job training, classroom instruction, and e‑learning.

Advancement in Technician classification is based on attitude, skill development, and overall job performance.

• Adheres to and follows all applicable and required safety standards and procedures.

• Plans and performs minor repairs using correct tools and procedures.

• Performs the following tasks on engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical components: remove and install; disassemble and reassemble; minor adjustments as needed for service.

• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting

• A minimum of one (1) year's work experience involving mechanical repairs or a combination of relevant experience and equivalent technical education required.

• Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills required.

• Work typically normally performed in a Service Department shop or on location at customer job sites.

• Standing on hard surfaces for extended periods of time often required.

• Ability to speak, listen, read, write, and type effectively

• Ability to reach, kneel, grasp, stoop, and perform repetitive motions

• Exposure to potential tripping, slipping, and falling hazards

• Ability to work effectively in stressful or high‑pressure situations
