The Staff Engineer, Electrical Design develops new electrical systems/circuits for various applications. Research system ideas and draw up plans for these systems, and capture them in schematics and system specifications. Test, simulate, validate and qualify their systems and make adjustments as needed.

Provide support throughout the manufacturing of the electrical systems they have designed.

The Staff Engineer, Electrical Design works in cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations.

This role will be focused in the A&D space with consultation in Health Tech, Energy, and Industrial.

- Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects, involving multiple domains. Participate in project planning and scheduling.

- Provides technical leadership and direction to a sizable team of engineers. May be a recognized expert (go to person) in one or more technical areas

- Takes responsibility for non-technical elements of an engineering project (people, financials etc.).

- Reviews and interprets customer requirements/specifications and may act as primary customer contract.

- Analyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions. Develops deployment strategies and plans.

- Leads the deployment of strategic complex programs and coordinates site-wide deployment efforts.

- Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs. E.g. creation of Schematics, Bills of material, diagrams, drawings, etc.

- Testing, simulation and measuring (including troubleshooting) the performance of systems

- Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations

- Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.

- May be a recognized expert (go to person) in one or more technical areas.

- Project Management - Ability to manage/lead complex, multiple line engineering projects that may also involve other functions. Demonstrate solid understanding of the technical, financial and people aspects of the project. Able to create a project/change management plan and ensure that the project is delivered within the assigned time and budget.

Ability to recognize project barriers and develop mitigation plans.

- Financial Acumen / Business Planning - Ability to create financial plans for your projects, align them internally with your line of management and other functions and externally if needed. Create project plans, profitability calculations, risk and sensitivity analysis, able to recognize barriers and mitigate profitability risks.

Fully knowledgeable about internal and external financial reporting, accounting and tax requirements relevant to your area of expertise.

- Aerospace & Defense Experience - Ability to lead projects compliant with AS9100D, identify and design to MIL-STDs for various designs

- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

- 7 to 10 years of related experience;Experience in similar job roles

Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The salary range described in this posting is an estimate by the Company, and may change based on several factors, including by not limited to a change in the duties covered by the job posting, or the credentials, experience or geographic jurisdiction of the successful candidate. Salary Range: $118k-$162k Annually
