As an Engineering Manager , you'll lead and grow a high-performing engineering team while helping build Arch's core platform and new offerings. This is a critical role at the intersection of people leadership and technical execution. Your work will directly shape engineering culture, team velocity, and the technology that powers our clients' investment experience.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
- Support team members' technical and professional growth through regular feedback, coaching, and goal setting.
- Partner with product, design, and data teams to scope, prioritize, and deliver complex projects on time.
- Drive the buildout of Arch's core platform and new offerings, including automating complex operational processes.
- Identify and prioritize infrastructure and process improvements that increase team velocity and engineering quality.
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years managing and growing engineering teams.
- A track record of building high-performing teams - hiring, developing, and retaining strong engineers.
- Strong technical foundations that allow you to engage meaningfully in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical trade-offs.
- Experience partnering with product and design to scope, prioritize, and deliver complex projects on time.
- Excellent communication skills - you can translate between technical and business contexts and represent your team's work to leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Experience in the fintech space or working on investment platforms.
- Prior experience scaling an engineering team through a period of rapid growth at a startup or high-growth company.
- Background in building or improving engineering processes - sprint planning, on-call rotations, incident response, or developer productivity initiatives.
Most of our full-time roles are based onsite at our New York City office , where our team thrives on in-person collaboration and dynamic teamwork. Being onsite daily enables us to build strong connections, move quickly, and deliver exceptional service to our clients.
For select roles, we are also open to candidates based in Boston . If a role is open to Boston, it will be listed explicitly in the job location.
