The Supervisor of the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Group will lead a team responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting MBSE practices across multiple programs. This role is critical in helping programs adopt MBSE, determine appropriate modeling approaches, deliver high quality systems engineering models, and communicate the value of digital engineering to internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical MBSE expertise with leadership skills, communication ability, and a collaborative mindset.
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design; Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience.
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Experience supervising engineering teams or managing engineering projects. - Hands-on experience implementing MBSE on large or complex programs. - Familiarity with digital engineering ecosystems, including requirements management, configuration management, and model-based integration. - Understanding of DoD, Navy, or shipbuilding systems engineering processes. - Experience developing MBSE strategy, process frameworks, and training materials.
