Full job description

About the role:

As a Product Designer within our Stores UX Team you’ll be at the forefront of Target’s evolving digital experience, shaping it for our guests and contributing to business growth. In this role, you will help design intuitive experiences that support Target guests and/or store team members and leaders in their daily work. Partnering with designers, product managers, and engineers, you will apply human-centered design practices to solve operational challenges and create solutions that improve team member effectiveness.

As a member of the team, you will contribute to a collaborative design culture through thoughtful craft, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. You'll share your work openly, participate in critiques, and help strengthen partnerships across product and engineering.

We are an engaged, supportive, and increasingly diverse team focused on elevating the impact of our discipline.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate throughout the end-to-end design process, from discovery and problem framing through ideation, prototyping, validation, design refinement, and implementation with engineering.
  • Partner closely with and learn from senior designers through collaboration, feedback, and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional working teams to deliver impactful business outcomes
  • Leverage insights, data and research to identify and pursue user-centric outcomes within your product space
  • Create design deliverables representative of the design process phase – such as journey maps, wireframes, user flows, UI design and prototypes
  • Contribute to qualitative and quantitative research efforts to better understand team member needs and evaluate design solutions.
  • Create accessible, intuitive, and thoughtful experiences through strong interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and prototyping.
  • Advance a culture of human-centered practice within UX, product, and engineering teams
  • Learn to navigate ambiguity by asking thoughtful questions, seeking feedback, and adapting designs as new information emerges.
  • Iterate on designs based on research findings, usability testing, stakeholder feedback, and product constraints.
  • Communicate design rationale clearly through presentations, documentation, and collaborative discussions.
About you:
  • Relevant product design experience through professional work, internships, or equivalent experience.
  • Foundational skills in UX and product design, as well as structuring and planning work, and owning the design process
  • Understanding of native mobile and/or web design patterns and platform conventions (Android experience is a plus).
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI, and how they can improve the experiences of team members and guests.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, systems thinking, and collaboration skills.
  • Curiosity and a desire to understand the motivations, behaviors, and needs of users.
  • Have knowledge of effectively using data and insights to inform design decisions and communicate your approach
  • Proficiency in product design and prototyping tools (i.e., Figma)
  • You value outcomes and strive toward design that is welcoming, inspiring, and clear
  • You understand how design connects to, serves, and improves business outcomes
  • Demonstrate openness to feedback, continuous learning, and iterative improvement.
