Senior Project Manager- Environmental

Langan is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Environmental to join its collaborative team in White Plains NY . This individual will serve a key function in identifying and managing environmental/engineering investigation and remediation projects and proposals, conducting environmental and engineering reviews, supervising field investigations and report preparations, and directing remediation design and implementation.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage diverse projects, solve problems and overcome challenges in restoring the environment and returning impacted properties to productive re-use while protecting and enhancing human health and the environment.

- Perform complex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects;

- Participate in the identification and pursuit of new clients, develop additional work within an existing project and attend business development meetings with new and existing clients;

- Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments. Coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to Environmental projects. Participate in interviewing and hiring staff;

- Supervise field activities and ensure correct interpretations of findings. Ensure that data collection and laboratory analyses are completed correctly, within budget, and on time;

- Manage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines. Prepare progress reports and draft change orders. Prepare draft invoices, project billings, and assist in payment collections;

- Effectively organize, write, and edit reports, draft proposals, and other documents;

- Coordinate other work groups within the same or different office locations and/or within the same or different disciplines on an as-needed basis;

- Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others; and

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Science; Master's degree preferred;

- 10 + years of practical experience with environmental investigations and remediation projects;

- Knowledge of NYSDEC/DER10 Regulations, NYCDEP, EPA, CERCLA, and RCRA regulations;

- Experience with investigation and remediation of petroleum spills and manufactured gas plant (MGP) sites;

- Innovative design and interim remedial measure experience;

- Underground storage tanks investigation and remediation experience;

- Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) required;

- Ability to mentor staff and provide leadership to colleagues;

- Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software;

- Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills;

- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;

- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and

Certain US jurisdictions require Langan to include an estimate of salary or hourly ranges. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program.

Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
