Battery Module Manufacturing Engineer Job Locations US-CA-San Carlos ID 2026-5089 Category Powertrain & Electronics, Manufacturing Type Regular Full-Time Overview Joby Aviation is seeking a passionate Manufacturing Engineer to join our Powertrain & Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Team in San Carlos, CA. The Manufacturing Engineer will own the manufacturing equipment design and process development of Joby Aviation aircraft battery modules, working closely with a cross-functional team.

This individual must be highly organized and self-driven, with a deep understanding of mechanical, process, and industrial engineering fundamentals, to successfully scale projects from prototype to low-volume production while maintaining a vision for high-volume production. This position is exciting and rewarding, as the Manufacturing Engineer will promptly see their ideas influence many key areas due to the fast pace of Joby Aviation.

Responsibilities Own and improve existing production workstations, tools and procedures Own design of new processes, tools, and equipment for upcoming projects Directly collaborate with Production team to support training Author Manufacturing Execution System (MES) procedures for Production team to use. Participate in cross functional work with Product Design and Test teams on current process/equipment/tool development Participate in program level strategy decisions Required BS in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent 2+ years of relevant industry experience Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills while working with cross-functional teams Passion for diving into the details and providing constructive feedback to the team and other cross-functional teams Proactive, driven, and a self-starter personality Desired Experience in manufacturing in a regulated environment such as 14 CFR Part 21, ISO9001, ISO 13485, TS16949, or equivalent Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

The target base pay for this position is $70,304 - $110,000/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
