OVERVIEW CR’s Product Safety team analyzes data, identifies trends and risks, maintains data quality, and translates complex information into actionable recommendations that support Consumer Reports’ research, advocacy, and consumer-facing work. As a Consumer Product SafetyTechnician, you will report to the Director, Product Safety within the Research and Insights division.
This role supports the growing need for project tracking, and product safety investigations, as well as reviewing incident and testing data, identifying emerging safety risks, and supporting evidence-based decision-making across the organization. This is a Limited Duration position, expecting to end August 31, 2027. There is a possibility that the position will be extended.
The position is designated as a hybrid for in-office collaboration and meetings as needed. This position is not eligible for sponsorship or relocation assistance. How You'll Make An Impact You will help Consumer Reports deliver trusted, evidence-based information by identifying consumer product safety risks, and supporting investigations, advocacy efforts, and consumer communications that empower consumers and improve marketplace safety.

Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. We have three locations: Yonkers, NY, Washington, DC and Colchester, CT.
