Full job description

The GoFundMe team is searching for our next Senior Product Designer to help create experiences that connect and support fundraiser organizers, potential donors, supporters, and nonprofits. This role isn’t just about pixels and prototypes—it’s about empathy, clarity, and creating real human impact.

You’ll be a core part of a triad leadership team, working shoulder-to-shoulder with your Product and Engineering partners to shape the vision, strategy, and execution of our most critical initiatives. Together, you’ll drive cross-functional collaboration with research, marketing, customer care, and more, to unlock user value, and guide the evolution of our platform.

We’re looking for a creative, strategic thinker with strong craft and a deep sense of purpose. Someone who thrives in ambiguity, leads with curiosity, and brings others along for the journey.

This is a hybrid position based out of our San Francisco, Los Angeles, or San Diego office.

  • Set and drive experience strategy across multiple product areas, aligning design vision with company goals and influencing roadmaps through strong product thinking and storytelling.
  • Use deep qualitative and quantitative insight to define problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and measure impact, connecting customer outcomes to business results and guiding teams toward high-leverage opportunities.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional design explorations, facilitating workshops and working sessions that align Product, Engineering, Data, and Research around shared problem definitions and conceptual direction.
  • Own end-to-end design execution for high-impact initiatives, producing high-quality designs, prototypes, and specifications while ensuring cohesion across surfaces and touchpoints.
  • Steward and evolve the Heart design system, identifying systemic gaps, influencing standards, and ensuring consistency, scalability, and accessibility across the product ecosystem.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to translate ambiguous problem spaces into clear, actionable solutions that are intuitive, elegant, and durable.
  • Raise the bar for design quality across the organization by leading critiques, mentoring designers, and modeling strong craft, feedback, and decision-making practices.
  • Act as a design thought leader, proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes, tools, and ways of working to help design scale effectively.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Product Designer working in-house or at an agency
  • Bring an expert understanding of the formal elements of design, including typography, layout, balance, and proportion
  • End-to-end experience designing consumer-facing experiences for web and native apps.
  • You are a problem solver that requires very little guidance on projects and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have the ability to take initiative, prioritize, manage workloads, and meet project deadlines.
  • You are an excellent communicator and can clearly articulate your design decisions, ideas, and vision.
  • You are empathetic and have a user-centered approach to design.
  • Experience working with a lean team of Engineers, Product Managers and User Researchers

The total annual salary for this full-time position is $131,000 - $218,000 + equity + benefits. The company also offers equity and other benefits to employees, including healthcare, dental, vision, life insurance and 401(k) saving program. In addition to this wage, there are geolocation differentials that will increase pay depending on the work location.

Additionally pay may vary depending on other factors including skills, experience, education, or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific total compensation package based on your location during the hiring process.
