<p><strong>Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company</strong>&nbsp;is seeking&nbsp;<strong>Mission Systems Test Engineer</strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>Patuxent River, MD </strong>to support the Presidential Helicopter Software Support Activity and related military avionics programs.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with avionics navigation and communication systems, a strong background in hardware/software testing, and a working knowledge of narrow band communications.

This role requires a Top Secret clearance and familiarity with COMSEC protocols.</p><p></p><p><strong>Position Type:</strong>&nbsp;Full-Time</p><p><strong>Salary: </strong>$100k<strong> -</strong> $135k (depending upon experience) <br><strong>Work Location:</strong>&nbsp;Full-time onsite.</p><p></p><p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p><ul><li>Develop detailed system and subsystem test requirements from high-level operational and system specifications for software/hardware implementation of avionics and communications systems.</li><li>Perform hands-on testing and integration of navigation and communication systems/subsystems (including Digital FM radio, GPS, SATCOM, HF ALE radio, Mil-Std 1553 Bus, and related equipment).</li><li>Utilize specialized test equipment (e.g., Avionics Integration Station, Bus Collection Computer, Satellite Simulators) for systems integration and compliance testing.</li><li>Analyze system performance data, including timing metrics and operational compliance, to validate system functionality and safety.</li><li>Investigate and resolve incident reports and defects, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.</li><li>Develop and execute test procedures for aircraft avionics systems and associated support systems, ensuring compliance with approved Software Trouble Reports and Defects.</li><li>Provide customer support for aircrew procedures trainers, flight testing, and cockpit upgrade programs.</li><li>Participate in technical conferences and qualification testing activities.</li><li>Other duties as assigned or required.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Required:</strong></p><ul><li>3+ years of experience in hardware/software testing for military/commercial avionics equipment.</li><li>Demonstrated experience with avionics navigation and communication systems, including narrow band communications.</li><li>Working knowledge of COMSEC protocols and secure communications equipment.</li><li>Proficiency in developing and implementing test procedures for analog, digital, microprocessor, power, and RF electronics.</li><li>Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and customer support abilities.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics Systems Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Desired:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience creating and executing software test procedures.</li><li>Experience with&nbsp;VH-92A,&nbsp;&nbsp;VH-3D&nbsp;and&nbsp;VH-60N&nbsp;helicopters.</li><li>Familiarity with Mil-Std 1553 Bus, SATCOM DAMA/DASA, HF ALE radio, and related avionics systems.</li><li>Prior experience supporting flight testing, NATOPS conferences.</li><li>Experience with tactical narrowband communications.</li><li>Prior experience with avionics and mission systems testing</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Education:</strong></p><p>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics Systems Technology, or related field and 3+ years of experience.</p><p></p><p><strong>Clearance:</strong></p><p>Active Secret clearance required.
