Junior Software Developer

<p><strong>Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company</strong>&nbsp;is seeking&nbsp;<strong>Junior Software Developer&nbsp;</strong>in&nbsp;<strong>Patuxent River, MD</strong> to support mission-critical DoD programs through the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in computer science, hands-on development experience, and familiarity with Agile methodologies to contribute to secure, scalable applications in a collaborative environment.</p><p></p><p><strong>Position Type:</strong>&nbsp;Full-Time</p><p><strong>Salary:&nbsp;</strong>$75k-$85k annually (depending on experience)<br><strong>Work Location:&nbsp;</strong>Onsite.</p><p></p><p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p><ul><li>Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern programming practices</li><li>Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in C# and other object-oriented languages</li><li>Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives</li><li>Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to ensure system reliability and performance</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions</li><li>Support system enhancements by adding new features and optimizing existing functionality</li><li>Contribute to software testing efforts, including unit testing and integration testing</li><li>Assist with version control, build pipelines, and deployment activities</li><li>Other duties as assigned or required</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Required:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience developing in C#</li><li>Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum or similar)</li><li>Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)</li><li>Experience with debugging, testing, and maintaining applications</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Desired:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with Python, Java, or JavaScript</li><li>Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS preferred)</li><li>Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or Jenkins</li><li>Experience with web development frameworks (React, Flask, Spring Boot)</li><li>Knowledge of databases (SQL or NoSQL)</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Education/Years of Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Engineering discipline (must be a completed, accredited degree) required.</li><li>1–3 years of relevant professional or internship experience in software development</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Security Clearance:</strong></p><p>&nbsp;Active Secret clearance required.
