Perform mission design activities and trade studies of various RPO navigation and control architectures and algorithms
Design and develop robust RPO estimation, optimization, fault detection, and scheduling algorithms in C++
Test and verify algorithms via software and hardware in the loop simulation
Perform statistical analysis (Monte Carlo, linear covariance analysis) to support proximity operations performance characterization
Work with the Space Operations team to integrate RPO plans and support post-flight analysis
Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or similar discipline
Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and solve complex problems with first principles approaches
Passion for spaceflight and advancing capabilities related to space domain awareness and space security
U.S. Citizen and eligible for DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance
Master’s or PhD in aerospace engineering or similar discipline
2+ years of professional experience writing high-reliability, production C/C++ code
Deep technical expertise in one or more of the following: spacecraft relative navigation, astrodynamics, estimation theory, trajectory optimization, planning and scheduling algorithms
Work Location — This is an onsite position, successful candidates will be located near Long Beach, CA or Denver, CO.
