The Molding Supervisor is responsible for the daily operational management of the Injection Molding Department. The position ensures safe, stable, and efficient manufacturing operations across all production shifts by coordinating production activities, supporting Leaders, and collaborating with cross-functional departments.
The Molding Supervisor drives operational excellence by ensuring compliance with safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory, and productivity objectives while promoting continuous improvement, standardization, employee development, and customer satisfaction.
Tasks Summary & Responsibilities (please enclose organizational charts) - 1. Safety & Environmental -Promote and maintain a Zero Incident culture. -Ensure compliance with all EHS policies and legal requirements. -Conduct regular GEMBA safety walks. -Lead investigations of safety incidents and implement corrective actions. -Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with machine safety standards. -Support risk assessments and continuous safety improvements. - 2.
Production Management -Coordinate daily molding operations across all production shifts. -Ensure production plans are executed according to customer requirements. -Monitor daily production performance and resolve operational issues. -Optimize machine utilization and department capacity. -Ensure adherence to production schedules. -Coordinate production priorities with Supply Chain. -Support production during abnormal situations and recovery plans. -Ensure production documentation is completed accurately. - 3.
Process & Technical Management -Ensure molding processes remain within validated process windows. -Monitor machine performance and process stability. -Coordinate mold changes and production start-ups. -Support process optimization activities. -Collaborate with Process Engineering to improve cycle time, machine efficiency and process capability. -Ensure implementation of standardized work instructions. -Support new product introductions and transfer projects. - 4.
Quality Management -Ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards. -Support containment activities during quality issues. -Drive reduction of Production Scrap and customer defects. -Ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions. -Participate in Layered Process Audits and Quality Audits. -Support IATF 16949 compliance. - 5.
Equipment & Tool Management -Coordinate preventive maintenance planning with Tool Maintenance. -Monitor machine availability and equipment reliability. -Coordinate tooling priorities with Tool Shop. -Ensure quick resolution of breakdowns. -Support TPM implementation & TPM1 Execution. -Monitor mold utilization and tooling performance. - 6.
People Management -Lead and coach Production Coordinators & Team Leaders. -Develop technical and leadership competencies within the production teams. -Conduct daily operational meetings. -Support employee performance reviews. -Promote employee engagement and teamwork. -Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. -Support manpower planning and workforce allocation.

Continuous Improvement -Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives. -Drive Kaizen events. -Drive SMED implementation. -Improve OEE/OEU. -Reduce production waste and non-value-added activities. -Improve labor productivity. -Maintain high standards of 5S+1 and Visual Management. -Promote a culture of continuous improvement. - 8.
Performance Management Monitor and drive departmental performance through key operational indicators, including: Safety OEE / OEU Schedule Attainment Production Scrap Rate COPQ Productivity Downtime Changeover Time Customer Complaints Inventory Accuracy Delivery Performance - 9. Cross-Functional Collaboration o Work closely with: EHS Human Resources Process Engineering Maintenance Tool Maintenance Quality Supply Chain WH & Logistics Manufacturing Engineering Project & Program Management
- Technical Diploma, Min BAC+5 (Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Plastics Engineering...) - Experience Min of 7 years in Automotive Field as Engineer and/or Leader in operations.... - Minimum 2 years of experience in Injection Molding Manufacturing. - Minimum 2 years in a production leadership role. - Experience leading cross-functional operational teams. - Production & Quality Management. - Injection Molding Technology. - Supply chain knowledge.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Visio, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project, Label software and ERP Systems: SAP...
- Strong presentation skills (written and oral). - Strong analytical and negotiation skills. - The ability to perform a multi-task job and adjust priorities as appropriate. - Action and detail oriented, having a drive for success. - The ability to network and interact effectively with a broad range of associates spanning varied disciplines and responsibilities.
