Senior Safety Specialist

Essential Functions: All other tasks as assigned by the manager. Minimum

Qualifications: Experience: 5+ years of Safety, or related experience. Education: HS Diploma or GED Equivalent Recommended: (Bi-Lingual, and field related certifications are a plus) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to learn, understand, and apply knowledge of safety and health principles including the ability to identify known potential exposures and recommended corrective actions.

Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs, internet inquiries, email, and regulatory websites. Demonstrates interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly (both verbal and written). Possesses working knowledge of OSHA Safety and Health regulations, national consensus standards, and municipal and state regulations governing safety and health.

Physical Demands: Performance of the required duties requires physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas. Requires use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Exhibits the ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb (stairs, ladders, etc.).

Exhibits the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE); including head protection, face protection, safety glasses, gloves, protective footwear, vest, and respiratory protection. Working Environment: Candidate regularly works on-site at a community or regional office.

Travel may be required between multiple locations. Licenses/Certifications: OSHA 30, or willing to obtain OSHA 30 within 90 days of employment. CPR/First Aid or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.

BCSP certification is preferred. Training: Satisfactory completion of AVB's new hire orientation within 30 days of employment or the first training session offered after employment. Any other applicable training assigned by the Manager or Director.
