Job Summary Position responsible for receiving and distributing materials in the Materials Management department. Also responsible for reconciling and maintaining appropriate records. Acts as a resource and trains lower level attendants.
Job Description Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED, preferred Licenses/Certifications: (None) Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Two (2) to three (3) years experience in a materials management role Basic math and computer skills Ability to work with minimal supervision Demonstrated ability and willingness to take initiative Principal Accountabilities Accepts delivery of merchandise requisitioned for the facility and updates the computerized inventory control system, logging transactions and maintaining master filing system.
Counts, compares and documents differences between total number of items received and total number of items on the shipping bill; checks and reports receipt of damaged materials. Attaches receiving documents to merchandise and delivers to appropriate department. Loads and stocks materials for the hospital including supply modules and exchange carts; returns empty carts to loading dock.
Stocks and maintains back-up inventories in materials holding area filling and distributing orders as requested. Assists in establishing appropriate par-levels; maintains inventory system of supplies and equipment for various departments. Monitors product recalls/warnings and communicates information to appropriate personnel.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors, adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity of service. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
